Cher commandant Castro, dirigeant de la Révolution cubaine

Ma famille, les membres de la Nation d’Islam et moi-même, prions Allah (Dieu) de te faire la grâce d’un prompt et plein rétablissement pour que tu puisses assumer à nouveau tes devoirs envers le peuple cubain et envers le monde. Nous te souhaitons également, ma famille, les membres de la nation d’Islam et moi-même, un bon anniversaire malgré le retard, et nous prions Allah (Dieu) de te permettre d’en célébrer bien d’autres à l’avenir.

Cher commandant Castro, l’idée de se mettre au service des nécessités de la population plutôt que l’idée d’amasser des richesses matérielles est l’essence de la révolution. L’idée de service est la force motrice de la révolution cubaine, et cela représente le niveau germinal de ce que les peuples religieux, tant dans le monde de la chrétienté, que du judaïsme et de l’islam, appellent le royaume de Dieu. Je crois fermement qu’Allah (Dieu) vous a choisis, toi et le people cubain, pour mettre en action cette démarche au service des besoins de l’homme, en donnant un cadre à tous les gens de bonne volonté afin d’aller plus loin dans cette façon de servir les autres. Jésus a dit : « Celui qui est le plus haut placé parmi vous, qu’il soit votre serviteur ». Sous cet angle, tu es l’un des plus grand dirigeants qui soient apparus au XXème siècle, tu as donné un véritable exemple à tous ceux qui vont nous conduire au long de ce XXIème siècle.

Pour clore, toi et la révolution que tu as inspirée, vous avez irrité bien des gens riches et puissants, qui se sont enrichis aux dépens des pauvres. Je crois que ce c’est pour cela que Jésus disait aux gens de son temps : « Il est plus facile pour un chameau de passer par le chas d’une aiguille que pour le riche d’entrer au royaume de Dieu. »

Souviens-toi, je te prie, de ce que je te disais lors de notre dernière rencontre: la mort de Fidel Castro, ça n’existe pas, car tu es une idée dont le temps est venu; et cette idée est au plus profond de l’âme de la plupart des Cubains, et elle est désormais dans le cœur de bien des gens dans le monde entier. Cette idée va continuer à grandir et tu continueras à grandir avec elle au-delà de la tombe.

Veuille Dieu continuer à vous combler de ses bienfaits, toi et ceux qui t’aident dans le service des autres.

Commandante Fidel Castro
Leader of the Cuban Revolution

As-Salaam Alaikum. (Peace Be Unto You)

Dear Commandante Castro,

On behalf of my family, the members of the Nation of Islam and myself, we pray that Allah (God) will grant you a full and speedy recovery that you may resume your duty to the people of Cuba and the world. Also, on behalf of my family, the members of the Nation of Islam and myself, we wish you a happy belated birthday, and we pray that Allah (God) will bless you with many, many more.

Dear Commandante Castro, the idea of servicing the needs of the people rather than the idea of gaining material wealth is the essence of the revolution. This idea of service is the driving force in the Cuban Revolution that represents the seminal stage of what religious people of Christianity, Judaism and Islam call the Kingdom of God. I firmly believe that Allah (God) has chosen you and the Cuban people to begin this process of servicing human needs, thus setting the stage for all people of goodwill to emulate this mode of service to others. Jesus said, "He who would be the greatest among you let him be your servant." In this regard, you are one of the greatest leaders to emerge in the 20th Century,
setting the foundation of a true example of service for all who will lead in the 21st Century.

In closing, you and the revolution you inspired have angered many people of wealth and status who have enriched themselves at the expense of the poor. I believe this is why Jesus told the people of His day: "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God."

Please remember what I said to you in our last meeting, that there is no such thing as death for Fidel Castro, for you are an idea whose time has arrived; and that idea is deep in the souls of most of the Cuban people and now in the hearts of many throughout the world. This idea will continue to grow and you will continue to grow with it from beyond the grave.

May Allah (God) continue to shower His Blessings on you and those who help you in the service of others.
